February 2023 Report

Here is your report for February’s past performance.

The S&P500 and the Nasdaq both show positive performance overall, being up more times than down.

Bear (no pun intended) in mind the S&P500 has returned 10.22% per year on average since 1928. If we divide that number by 12, the average monthly return since 1928 is 0.85%

The report below shows that the S&P500 actually got -0.11% mean return, and +0.27% median return. The performance is relatively weak compared to the rest of the months. Bad times such as February 2009 (-10.99%) and February 2001 (-9.23%) bring the mean and median down. This could suggest especially bad month performance, is more likely in February.
